23rd Annual St. Louis Fed Professors Conference

The annual St. Louis Fed Professors Conference provides college educators with a venue both to learn about innovative classroom instruction and to present their own ideas in concurrent sessions. 

Key features of this year's event include:

  • A presentation from Peter Coy, freelance journalist, and Stacey Vanek Smith, Bloomberg Audio, "Bringing Economics to Life: Teaching with Metaphor and Storytelling," followed by a panel discussion
  • A presentation from Sam Allgood of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and KimMarie McGoldrick of the University of Richmond, "Rethinking Economic Education: A New Framework"
  • Concurrent sessions from college professors on effective teaching in the economics classroom with a focus on active learning and research-based strategies
  • An update on FRED®, the St. Louis Fed's signature economic database

Please note that the conference is not a hybrid event; all participants and presenters must attend in person at the St. Louis Fed. Our conference will demonstrate active learning strategies that are best shared in a face-to-face setting.

There is no fee to attend the conference, but you must register by 5 p.m. on Oct. 30, 2025. 

Participants are responsible for their own transportation and accommodations.
